Forum: etree Subject: Try FTP

I recommend trying FTP instead. Bottoming out isn't a problem because it always resumes where it left off.

This is now in the FAQ's:

When I download concerts, I constantly get disconnected before the download completes. What can I do to fix this?

If you are downloading large files from the collection with your Internet Browser and experience trouble maintaining a reliable connection to our servers, we recommend that you use FTP instead (File Transfer Protocol). Almost all FTP clients will allow your download to resume if the connection get broken. In addition, many will allow you to set up a queue of files that will automatically reconnect and resume when it notices that the transfer has stopped.

For a list of recommended free FTP clients, see this FAQ.

P.S. The server copies of both those recordings looks fine.

SSIA - we only have 2 recommended FTP clients in our FAQ section - 1 for Windows and 1 for Mac.

Does anyone else have a free FTP client that they would like to recommend?

Oh man .. you HAVE to add the open-source Filezilla. I ditched Smart FTP after 2 years of loyal use when i found how secure, easy, and faster this one was. free.

(it's for windows for sure. not sure if it works on macs too, but i use it on PC and it is amazing.)
